Regional businesses deliver
GSDC Bulletin 50
A grants program through the GSDC is helping local businesses to deliver a range of beneficial State Government-funded projects.
The Local Projects, Local Jobs program has delivered drainage improvements at the Bremer Bay Primary School oval, a nature playground at the Jerramungup District High School, and cricket pitches and nets at Mount Lockyer Primary School. Other projects under the program have delivered better sports facilities and opportunities for basketball, football, Sailability and rifle shooting among others.
All of the projects have a strong emphasis on local content and some of them have achieved 90 to 100 per cent input from regional businesses.
One of the latest projects in the program was a new stage in the assembly hall at Flinders Park Primary School.
Students from the school took to the stage in their assembly hall on Friday 22 June to celebrate the completion of the project, which gained $30,000 of Local Projects, Local Jobs funding through the GSDC. Albany MLA Peter Watson attended the Flinders Park assembly and formally opened the stage.
