Albany Entertainment Centre

The $70 million Albany Entertainment Centre (AEC), located within the Albany Waterfront project, includes a 620-seat auditorium, rehearsal space, café, convention/corporate function area and an observation platform. The GSDC secured $68.8 million of funding for the project and had administrative responsibility for the project budget until 30 June 2010.

The Perth Theatre Trust has held responsibility for managing the operations of the AEC since it opened in 2010.

The GSDC is a member of the Albany Entertainment Centre Operational Advisory Committee, along with representatives of the Perth Theatre Trust and the City of Albany. In terms of its use for both performances and events, AEC business continues to do well and in the most recent reporting period, the venue hosted more than 200 performances and events which attracted more than 44,000 patrons, an increase of 17 per cent on the previous reporting period.
