Katanning Early Childhood Hub

A $6.3 million Early Childhood Hub being built in Katanning will provide an easily identifiable venue for families to access services for young children. The GSDC helped to secure a $5.725 million grant for the project through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program. The Commission continues its involvement through the project advisory group for the initiative.

The Early Childhood Hub will provide a one-stop-shop for families, support easy referral between services, and facilitate integration of services for children from birth to eight years old. An integrated service that extends from a hub has been shown to significantly improve a child's development. Therefore the hub aims to improve life outcomes for all children in the Katanning area.

The centre will be able to cater for future population growth. It will allow organisations to share resources, make joint applications for funding, work closely in partnership to address local challenges and opportunities, and attract new services to town. It will be the central point for early childhood development information and services.
