GSDC provides access to reliable, up-to-date data to support planning, investment and informed decision-making across the Great Southern.

Through regional snapshots, REMPLAN data and the WA Data Hub, we bring together key economic, population and industry insights in accessible formats. These tools help government, businesses and community stakeholders understand the region, identify opportunities, and make evidence-based decisions that support sustainable growth.

Regional snapshots

The Great Southern regional snapshots offer a concise, high-level overview of the Great Southern’s economy and community, from industry and employment to population and investment trends.

They support strategic planning and policy development, strengthen funding applications and business cases, and provide a clear evidence base for regional advocacy and investment attraction. By presenting complex information in a simple and consistent format, the snapshots also help build a shared understanding of the region’s performance and priorities.

REMPLAN data

REMPLAN provides detailed economic modelling and analysis for the Great Southern, including insights into industry output, employment, supply chains and economic impacts.

The platform enables users to explore the structure of the regional economy, analyse industry contributions and trends over time, and assess the potential economic impacts of projects or investments. This supports more robust business cases, planning processes and investment decisions.

Regional WA Data Hub

The Regional WA Data Hub provides access to a wide range of economic and demographic data across regional Western Australia.

Developed for the State’s Regional Development Commissions, the Hub allows users to compare regions, track trends over time and access interactive dashboards and datasets. It supports evidence-based planning, policy development and a deeper understanding of regional performance.
