Stage 2A – Master Plan Vision has focused on understanding opportunities for future development this will guide the master plan design through Stage 2B. This new stage of the project will establish a framework to transform Albany’s Waterfront into a unified space, blending historical and modern elements, encouraging private investment, sustainable growth, and preserving rich heritage.

This work has relied on information from workshops, consultations, a public survey, and other activities that encouraged participants to reimagine the waterfront space.

Stage 2A included workshops with diverse stakeholders from various organisations. These sessions provided project briefings, insightful discussions, and explored future development themes for the precinct.

Students from the UWA School of Design and UWA Albany worked on designs for the Albany Waterfront precinct over the past six months. Some of these designs were displayed at the UWA Crawley end-of-year exhibition in October 2024.

Public consultation via an online survey was collected alongside ongoing cultural consultation, contributing to another vital aspect in the creation of the plan.

Together with our stakeholders and the community, we are working to create a shared vision for this iconic part of Albany, which will continue to aid and inform the Stage 2B – Master Plan Design phase.
