The GSDC 2023-24 Annual Report received a Bronze Award at the 40th Annual W.S. Lonnie Awards for excellence and accountability in public sector annual reporting.

In the category of ‘General Government Agencies with Under 100 FTEs’, the GSDC’s Bronze Award, followed the Pilbara Development Commission receiving Silver, and the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission receiving Gold – Commissions winning the full category.

The judging panel described the GSDC’s annual report asA very informative, well-presented, and well-structured report, with clear performance reporting based on five strategic goals. The report also has a good corporate governance section which extends to coverage of internal audit and integrity training, and uses QR codes well to allow a reader to scan for further information.”

The event, held each year in Perth, promotes excellence, transparency, and accountability in annual reporting, which are key pillars of good governance. The Lonnie Awards encourage agencies to clearly communicate their performance and achievements, setting benchmarks for quality in public sector reporting.
