The Regional Economic Development (RED) Grants program is a $55.85 million over ten years state government initiative investing in locally-driven projects to stimulate economic growth and development in regional Western Australia.
Delivered locally by the state’s nine Regional Development Commissions, up to $250,000 is available for individual projects that contribute to:
Sustainable job creation
Expanding or diversifying industry
Development skills or capabilities
Attracting new investment
Increasing productivity.
The RED Grant program invests in local projects that create long-term economic growth and stimulate jobs creation in the regions, and is open to businesses, local governments and non-profit organisations.
The grants will boost investment in local regional projects that contribute to population and economic growth initiatives and innovation pilots, and importantly, are driven by the community.
The RED Grant program for the Great Southern are delivered by the Great Southern Development Commission with support from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD).

The RED Grant Guidelines recommend that you contact your Regional Development Commission to discuss your project prior to progressing or submitting an application for funding to learn how to put together a strong RED Grant application.
