Great Southern Wines Showcased in Southeast Asia
As part of our ongoing trade development efforts, the GSDC was proud to support the promotion of Great Southern wines on the international stage through a series of wine masterclasses and trade tastings held in Thailand and Singapore in May.
The South West & Great Southern Fine Wine Trade Mission brought together leading wineries from the Great Southern and Margaret River regions to connect with wine traders in Southeast Asia. Events in Bangkok and Singapore attracted strong interest from local traders, sommeliers, distributors, retailers, and media, offering producers the chance to expand their export reach, identify new partners, and strengthen brand recognition in 2 high-potential markets.

This mission builds on previous trade activities, including a 2023 outbound mission and media familiarisation tour, and forms part of a broader program to grow the value and visibility of the region’s premium wine exports. With more than 100 trade professionals attending in Thailand and over 50 in Singapore, the events demonstrated strong demand for Western Australian wines and reinforced the Great Southern’s reputation as a producer of high-quality, distinctive wines.

We thank our partners Great Southern Wine Producers Association, Wines of Western Australia, Margaret River Wine Association, South West Development Commission, and Austrade for their collaboration, and we look forward to continuing to support local exporters through future trade initiatives.
