Katanning Vet Clinic Unveils New Equipment and Renovated Facility
The Katanning Vet Clinic has proudly revealed its newly renovated building and state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring that all patients’ needs are met locally. The clinic now offers advanced services such as X-rays, and overnight hospitalisation.

The renovations, which began in 2023 and took 12 months to complete, were carried out while the clinic remained operational, ensuring continuous care for its patients. Dr. Kate Clayton, the clinic’s owner, officially showcased the renovated facility on August 2.
Dr. Clayton emphasized the importance of the updates, noting that previously, patients often had to travel to her Kojonup Vet Hospital due to a lack of equipment and resources in Katanning. “Our patients now get access to high-class services locally, which is important, especially for pets like cats that don’t travel well, and there’s no one else that does after-hours,” she explained.
The project received funding from a successful Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant in 2023. The grant provided $110,000 in funding, which was crucial for purchasing new equipment.
Member for the Agricultural Region Shelley Payne MLC and GSDC board member Liz Guidera spoke at the opening event, both highlighting the clinic’s significance in offering high-quality services to the regional area.
The new extension includes specialized units for cats, dogs, new consult tables and rooms, a space dedicated to supporting grieving owners, a garden area, a hydrobath for grooming, and a shed for the work vehicle. The official launch of the Katanning Veterinary Hospital expansion has been well received by the local community, who now have access to a well-equipped modern facility for their animals.
