A regional tourism strategy

Improvements in the welcome precinct include signage, parking, landscaping, street furniture, and facilities for recreational vehicles. A regional tourism strategy will be developed to increase the economic contribution of tourism in the central Great Southern.

Katanning’s iconic All-Ages Playground will be renovated as part of the welcome precinct. Play equipment will be renewed or refurbished, while retaining the area’s established identity. Improvements include barbecues, toilets, and better access and parking.

A new botanic garden, walk trails, boardwalks, amphitheatre and a nature playground will be developed around Piesse Lake. At least 30 fully serviced residential lots will be created next to Piesse Lake in a medium density subdivision.
