Taste Great Southern 2025: A Wild Culinary Adventure Begins
The Great Southern’s culinary culture takes center stage this week, with food and wine focussed festival Taste Great Southern 2025 kicking off.

Taking place from 1 to 4 May, this year’s festival promises a unique culinary journey across the region, including Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Frankland River and Katanning.
Taste Great Southern 2025, themed ‘Wander with the Wild’, offers wine tasting, seafood feasts, hiking adventures, educational masterclasses, and exclusive soirees. Renowned chefs such as Mark LaBrooy, Paul “Yoda” Iskov, Evan Hayter, Brian Cole, Blaze Young, and Amy Hamilton will lead this culinary adventure, each bringing their unique perspectives and expertise.
The Great Southern Development Commission (GSDC) is a founding supporter of the annual festival, with Chief Executive Officer Natasha Monks highlighting the benefits to the region.
“Taste is more than a celebration of cuisine, it is an opportunity to boost tourist visitation, and reinforce the things that make our region unique – the premium food and wine, and the unrivalled natural wilderness,” Ms Monks said.
“It provides a platform for local producers, chefs, and artisans to showcase their talents, fostering community pride and supporting the local economy”.
With its new four-day format and fresh new look, Taste Great Southern 2025 is set to reestablish itself as a premier culinary destination event in Western Australia’s event calendar.
